    Thoughts on Gender and Sexism

    by Melissa Weiss

(Responses to articles in the RQ#96 theme section on Gender Issues)

I have some comments to add to the discussion in this issue of RQ. I would ask the author of "Undoing Sexism" why she didn't mention the fact that women might be sexist, but focuses on men's sexism, which I think is limiting. If people are sexist by nature of living in a sexist society then it seems to follow that women would be as sexist as men and just in need of admonition as men.

Also, I wonder what AManda Atain Adamah's solution would be around sex work from a political perspective, she details her objections to women participating in it, but does she feel that criminalization is a good solution to women's oppression?

    Thanks - Melissa Weiss
