Peace March - Signs of Protest

September 24, 2005 - San Francisco

Photos and text by Luke Hauser

On Saturday, September 24, anti-war marchers took to the streets of Washington DC, San Francisco, and other cities to demand an end to the Iraq War, an end to the current U.S. regime, and justice for all.

The San Francisco peace march passed through the Mission, Castro, Haight, and Western Addition neighborhoods in central SF.

The march was a reader's delight. For those of us who experience life through text, the entertainment never ended. Here are a sampling of the thousands of signs that adorned the procession.

Most signs were hand-crafted, reflecting individual commentary on the political situation.

ANSWER was the major organizer of the and rally. Hundreds of grassroots groups helped with outreach, publicity, banners and signs.
